iBooks are an epub version of eBooks made available by Apple in their iBookstore. They can only be read on an iPhone, iPad or other Apple device which gives them a more limited readership than Amazon's Kindle.
While the Kindle versions of eBooks may be read on Amazon's dedicated Kindle devices, Microsoft Windows, IOS, Blackberry, Mac OS X, Android, WebOS, Windows Phone and Web Browsers, let us not forget that the Apple readership is huge. iPads have taken the world by storm.
It is, therefore, in the best interests of authors to make their work available on both platforms.
The Apple iBookstore offers a great opportunity for authors and iBook Publishing Made Easy will take you through the process step-by-step.
Reading through Val's "iBook Publishing Made Easy" shows that she writes from first hand experience and makes it all very practical. The tools or links necessary for easy progress are clearly shown even for someone new to Kindle and iBook publishing. It's well laid out, clear to follow and easy to access the facts for later reference. All Val's "how to" publications are of similar quality and usefulness; and I now have several of them!
