The search for truth is an eternal quest and many have asked where exactly TRUTH may be found? The Lord Jesus Christ has the answer. The One Who is THE TRUTH Himself declared that "THY WORD IS TRUTH" (John 17:17). "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works". (2 Tim. 3:16,17).
The Bible is our Standard of Truth and this Manual compares the teaching of seventeen major religious groups and/or cults with basic fundamental Biblical doctrine under nine basic headings and the question asked: What do they believe about ... ??
2. The Trinity.
3. The Person of Jesus Christ.
4. The Holy Spirit.
5. The Work of Christ (The Atonement).
6. The Resurrection and Promised Return of Christ.
7. Salvation by faith Sin and Judgment Heaven and Hell.
9. The Bible.
Available material was researched and leading people in the various groups interviewed, where possible. The conclusions drawn in this Manual are based on information made available and every effort has been made to present the varied viewpoints as accurately as possible.
This Manual is not designed to ridicule or scorn the teaching of those who differ in their faith and doctrine, but to examine the teaching of groups who claim to either hold to orthodox Biblical Christian doctrine or who claim that their movements accommodate Biblical Christianity.
The battle today is for the minds of men, women and children and we need, more than ever, to keep our attention focused on THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. "Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith" (Heb. 12:2).
